THE POSITION: The Lot Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean and well organized New and Used Vehicle area.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current, Valid, Driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Required.
  • Ability to complete tasks on your own as well with a team.
  • Good work ethic organized, and positive attitude are a must.

Education and Experience:

  • No retail experience is necessary.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Keep the New and Used Vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by management and in accordance with facility display standards.
  • Keep inventory vehicles clean as directed by management.
  • Clean interior and exterior of vehicles, including the trunks and glove compartments.
  • Police grounds of the dealership.
  • Follow policies and procedures as set forth in Employee Handbook.
  • Wear company approved uniform.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
  • Requires the ability to lift 40 pounds of material.
  • Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle repair facility.
  • Frequently, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.

Position Overview

As an Automotive Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for selling vehicles by effectively understanding, demonstrating, and communicating the features and benefits to customers. You will develop relationships with buyers, qualify their needs, and close sales while contributing to a positive dealership experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assess their vehicle preferences, including make, type, and quality desired.
  • Demonstrate vehicle features and operation both on the sales floor and during test drives.
  • Recommend optional equipment and additional products to meet customer needs.
  • Research vehicle availability and optional equipment to inform customers accurately.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager on pricing, trade-in evaluations, financing options, and closing sales.
  • Prepare all necessary paperwork, including sales contracts and credit applications.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle’s operation, warranty, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update a prospect development system to build a customer base.
  • Stay informed on new products, features, and industry trends.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Meet or exceed forecasted sales goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Work frequently in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Regularly stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit during a workday.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Possess necessary vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Potential exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles.
